Mickey West, an art student at the University of Massachusetts Boston, was spotted in the Campus Center sporting a colorful outfit on her way to a Maroon 5 concert on March 3.
West’s outfit features her go-to cool tones, consisting of a pleasant blend of teal and peacock green. Her sense of style is typically a blend of the very simple and the cost-effective, getting much of her clothing from thrift stores.
“I love to shop at Buffalo Exchange in Allston. It’s a higher scale thrift store where you can get stuff from stores like Free People,” she said.
Her outfit from Tuesday features a black zip-up hoodie and white t-shirt from Buffalo Exchange, stylish blue pants from a rummage sale, and black ankle boots from Macy’s. She pulls the ensemble together with an intricately patterned scarf she received as a Christmas gift, and accent earrings from A Piece of Heaven, the vintage boutique in Brighton.
Her main fashion inspirations are her friends.
“My friend Winston is a big influence because he always dresses so classy and makes me feel bad about what I wear and makes me want to dress up more,” West said.
As far as celebrities go, West is a big fan of Lady Gaga’s outrageous outfits.
