Rachel Sousa made the last game of the regular season a memorable one and the ECAC Women’s East took notice.

The sophomore forward for the Lady Beacons registered a hat trick and added an assist to fuel UMass Boston’s 5-2 win over Castleton State College last week, prompting the ECAC Women’s East to name her Player of the Week.

The hat trick was Sousa’s first as a Lady Beacon and she became the fourth on her team this season to total at least four points in a game. Maria Nasta registered five points on two occasions, while Lauren Duran and Kristen Smith have tallied four points once each.

Through 23 games this season, Sousa is third on the team in points (22) and second in assists (16).
