Many teams wish they could have just one solid goalkeeper on the roster. The UMass Boston women’s soccer team has found themselves with two. After junior Michelle Cain’s dominant stretch midway through the season, senior Jessica Penta got her turn.As a result, she recently broke Cain’s school-record streak of consecutive minutes without a goal allowed at 500:14. In that time period she’s recorded two shutouts, including a stellar performance against UMass Darthmouth in the first round of the LEC tournament. She has three shutouts on the year. Her 7 wins tie for first on the team and is also a school record.
