On a cool rainy day at the Umass Boston Campus, most students gravitate towards dressing in comfortable sweats, and hoodies. Not Audrey. This Communications Major brightened up the dreary day in a light cream colored jacket and a floral dress from Zara, a navy flowered scarf from H&M, suede Jeffrey Campbell boots, Gap Jeans, and Longchamp’s Le Pliage hobo bag. Just like her style icon, British actress Sienna Miller, Audrey made her outfit visually interesting by mixing two different floral patterns in both the scarf and the dress, layering the dress over jeans, and finally adding a simple jacket. So as to not detract from the whole outfit, Audrey kept her accessories simple, sporting only a small silver pair of earrings. An exchange student from Montreal, Audrey gathers her inspiration and ideas from UK based Lula magazine, subscribing to fashion blogs such as WhoWhatWear Daily, and scouring vintage stores. Audrey’s stellar casual outfit proves that florals aren’t only meant for spring, but can be worn in any season, and that mixing different patterns and textures doesn’t always have to be a fashion faux pas.
