Friday, February 18th
Around 12:30 PM there was a suspicious person reported in the Campus Center. When campus security found the individual it was revealed that the “suspicious person” was merely lost.
Around 1:30 in the afternoon, in the plaza outside the Healy Library, someone was trying to sell marijuana to a student. The party was reported, identified, stopped and made to surrender a small bag of marijuana to the campus security, at which point he was sent on his way, and a report was made to the dean of students.
Saturday, February 19th
A fire alarm went off at 1:38 AM in the Clark Center. The BFD (the Boston Fire Department) came and checked everything out. The source of the alarm was a false mechanism.
At 12:00 PM there was a call placed from the Clark Center. Someone noticed there was a missing defibrillator. Understandably dismayed, the individual called Campus Security. The missing device was found elsewhere in the athletic center, having been moved because its battery needed to be charged.
Tuesday, February 22nd
A party fainted around 7:30 AM in the Science Center. 911 was called and she was transported to New England Medical Center for observation.
Party reported a set of chef knives were stolen just outside the cafeteria around 9:30 AM.
In the North Lot, at around 1:00 PM, a parking lot attendant called in that there were some vehicles parked in invalid spots and were blocking traffic. Although the attendant told one individual not to park there, the party did not listen and, excusing his actions by saying, “well, everyone else is doing it”, parked in the illegal spot. Although the Campus Police were able to reach three of the illegally parked cars as it is policy to call people before they tow their vehicles, two other cars were towed – one of someone who was unregistered in the school and one of a student who wasn’t in her class and otherwise unreachable.
At about 5 at night, a staff member called in a suspicious person in the Campus Center. She believed the party was trespassing. The suspicious person was identified and was in fact trespassing. The trespasser, Judy Laurore (45) was then arrested for trespassing on public property. However, she resisted arrest and was charged for disorderly conduct for grabbing at an officer’s belt.
Wednesday, February 23rd
At about 4:00 PM, a party in Wheatley was complaining about abdominal pain and several people called the Campus Police. The individual was taken to the hospital.
At around 10 PM, there was a noise complaint issued from the Campus Center. A loud band was playing. The Campus Police responded. An officer went over and asked them to turn it down – the band explained that they were just practicing. They were allowed to continue playing, just more quietly.
Thursday, February 24th
At 10:11, an individual came into the station who had tripped and fallen in the main plaza over one of the blocks.
At 8:35 there was an alarm in the Healey Library. A pipe, called a dry pipe (it holds no fluid so it is not as susceptible to freezing) was leaking. A pressure gauge lowered to a certain point and automatically sounded the alarm so that someone comes and fixes the problem before it becomes more serious.
Friday, February 25th
At 7:30 AM a party observed and smelled an individual smoking marijuana in a car in the Beacons Lot. As the car was turned on, he was charged with operating under the influence. He was also charged with possession of Class B and Class E narcotics. That is, cocaine and prescription pills specifically.
