In a rain-soaked battle with Eastern Nazarene, the girls didn’t fair as well, suffering a 1-0 loss. Freshman Krista Ledin got off to a huge start, scoring 2 goals on 16 shots. 1-3 (0-0 LEAC)
No one can dispute that the Lady Beacons got off to a shaky start. In New York, they lost their first two matches b a combined score of 15-3. Their final match of the trip against York was a heartbreaking 5-4 loss. The team got a lucky break when their home opener against Lesley was postponed due to rain, giving them a full week to prepare for Newbury. The ladies took the BC High court looking to make a statement, and they did with a 9-0 slaughter in which every team member got a win. This victory should mean new life and confidence as the team enters the LEAC season.
