Mass Media
During my time at Mass Media, I can confidently say that at least 10 students read the sports section… most of which work for the paper. Interviewing a prestigious athletics department like UMass Boston was enthralling work, constantly keeping me on the edge of my seat. I mean who doesn’t love interviewing subpar division III athletes. I spent endless hours at my desk, rigorously punching the numbers to find out who’s the next Beacon athlete of the week! Jokes aside, the athletics department has begun the journey of establishing themselves as a DIII powerhouse. The hockey, baseball, men’s soccer, and volleyball programs are elite and only on the rise. Ten-years-time it will be amazing to see the success the athletics department brings.
Seriously though, in my time present, Mass Media was whatever awesome. Constant bugs on the sports computer complemented a mouse that seemed to vanish every time I showed my face. What a blast! Mass Media meetings were my favorite. An hour of pizza and conversation is definitely the most efficient way to prepare the following weeks print.
On the real, the New York City trip was a blast… from what I remember. I’m not a very outgoing person in the workplace, but seeing my coworkers in the real world was a great experience. There are some really interesting and creative minds at Mass Media and I’m ecstatic to see what these fellah’s and gal’s will do in their futures. What I truly will miss are the handfuls of candy and Donna Neal. Donna is literally the coolest person on campus and it’s been truly a blessing to have her in my corner the past couple of years.
Shouts out to my fam, shouts out to Christian, shouts out to Ricky, shouts out to Welina, Jaran, and Mickey. And a big shout out to Sean, S dot.
