Women’s Tennis Update: UMass Boston Women’s Tennis Team continues to struggle out of the gate. After winning their first game of the season 9-0 on the road against the College of Staten Island, the Lady Beacons have lost their last 3, including an 8-1 loss at Worcester State University. One can hope that the team finds a way to turn it around, and it is certainly early enough to expect some kind of improvement.
Women’s Soccer Update: The UMass Women’s Soccer Team has stumbled to a 1-6 start, sandwiching their lone win in between multiple losses. Their most recent loss was a close one at home against Plymouth State University by a score of 2-1. Heading into the season, it was known that the team was battling some injuries, so there is reason to believe that the team will improve from this rough start.
Cross-Country Update: UMass Cross-Country competed in the UMass Dartmouth invitational last Saturday, and took some positives out of their showing. The men placed 26 out of 33 teams, and the women placed 32 out of 37 teams. In addition to that, Cameron Chase led all Beacons with a time of 21:42.09, with the women’s leader Madison Harmon not too far behind at 21:43.27.
Women’s Volleyball Update: The Beacons of Volleyball are off to a torrid start this season. Opening the season with a record of 8-1 is certainly no small feat and the team shows no signs of slowing down. With their most recent win coming over Western Connecticut State University, the team has it’s first conference win of the season. The team continues to show why they are at the top of the class of their conference, and the NCAA championship certainly looks attainable at this point.
