Freshmen Billy Allen and Roger Perry scored 17 points and 15 points, respectively, as the Beacons beat Rhode Island College on the road, 89-67. The team’s record improved to 6-13 overall, and 2-7 in the Little East Conference.
Although Allen and Perry led the team in scoring, the victory was a complete team effort, as 15 different Beacon players scored. Almost every statistic for the Beacons was led by a different Beacon: freshman Geoff Ponitz was tops in rebounds with seven, the game assists title went to freshman Olavo Billy Gomes, and freshman Roderic Jean-Joseph who tallied four steals.
The Beacons won the field goal percentage battle by hitting 33 of 60 shots while only allowing 22 buckets to Rhode Island out of 61 shots. Perry was deadly from downtown as he drained all three of his shots from beyond the arc.
