Would you like a say in how some of your fees are being spent? Would you like to meet graduate students from other programs? Spayne and Bollinger Grant DeadlinesThe deadline for the Spayne Master’s Thesis and Bollinger Doctoral Thesis Awards is fast approaching! If you are a doctoral or master’s candidate working on your thesis, you may consider applying for one of these grants! Each program offers two grants of up to $1000 each for doctoral and master’s candidates engaged in thesis research. The application deadline for this fall’s grants will be Wednesday, December 1 at 5:00 p.m. More information and applications may be found on our website.

Dissertation DefenseThe College of Health and Nursing Sciences is pleased to announce that Kathleen Donaher will present and defend her dissertation titled, “Human Capital Competencies Inventory: Development and Psychometric Testing with Nurse Managers,” on Monday, November 22, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. in the Fuld Conference Room (Science Building, 2nd floor). RPA InfoDoes your RPA have money in its budget? Don’t just let it sit there, spend it!!! Start planning your end-of-the-semester party or next event now! The deadline to spend money for the Fall semester is Wednesday, December 8, 2004. Is the thought of planning an event overwhelming? An easy-to-use guide to event planning has been left in RPA Student Life mailboxes. Check your mailbox and meet with your Student Life Advisor for help putting together your next RPA event!

Professional Development GrantsAre you traveling to a professional conference this semester? The GSA administers the Professional Development Grant (PDG) program to assist graduate students with the economic burden of traveling to, and participating in, professional conferences and meetings. Grants of up to $400 are available to reimburse students presenting papers or posters, and grants of up to $300 are available for students attending conferences. Please refer to our website for application materials and guidelines. Note that all application materials must be submitted at least 30 days prior to travel to be eligible for review.
