Amendments to the Undergraduate Student Government Constitution

Article I Section 1

Name  [to  be  amended]

The name of this organization shall be the Student Government Association, herein denoted SGA, of the University of Massachusetts at Boston, herein denoted the University.

Article V Section 2

Structure [to  be  removed]

The three Branches shall be collectively referred to as the Undergraduate Student Government (USG).

*To be edited as follows: Article I Section 1 Name  (taking  out  A5- S2)   The name of this organization shall be the Undergraduate Student Body, herein denoted USB, of the University of Massachusetts at Boston, herein denoted the University. The governing body shall be composed of three branches and shall be collectively referred to as the Undergraduate Student Government (USG).

Article IV Section 4

Membership  

SGA members are eligible to vote in the general election of the Senate for the academic unit or college in which the SGA member is registered.

*To be edited as follows: Senators shall function as the representatives for the undergraduates of their academic unit or college within the jurisdiction of USG.

Article VI Section 14.5 

The Legislature shall have the power to:

Article VI Section 8.1a

The Steering Committee:

Shall consist of the Speaker, Vice Speaker, and the chair of any standing committee as members. The President, Vice President and the Student Trustee are ex-officio members.

Article VII Section 7.4

The Executive Committee shall have the power to:

To call the Legislature into session as prescribed in the Bylaws.

Article VII Section 7.5

The Executive Committee shall have the power to:

Make a semester address to the Senate regarding the state of the SGA.
