The Vietnamese Student Association, Asian Student Center and Kung Fu and Lion Dance Club hosted “Journey to UMB: Celebration of the Lunar New Year” Feb. 19 in McCormack Hall, Ryan Lounge from 3 to 7 p.m.

Featured events included a fashion show, henna tattoos, a song performed by sophomore Carol Do and a demonstration of East Asian martial arts by the Kung Fu and Lion Dance Club.

Maria Servellon, an alumna, said, “I love that the school embraces different cultures, and I love that my friends could set up an event like this.”

Helen Ngo, a freshman who modeled in the fashion show, said, “We worked hard to get this event to happen, and I didn’t expect so many people to come … I can’t wait to do this again next year.”
