An individual got locked out of their car at the entrance to Lot D.

5/20/2013 8:25 a.m. 

A woman reported four cushions stolen from a bench outside of her office McCormack Hall. The cushions were found in a fourth floor women’s bathroom at 9:20 a.m.

5/20/2013 9:52 a.m.

A driver on University Drive West failed to stop at a stoplight.

5/20/2013 10:20 a.m.

A man was stopped for taping various parts of Wheatley Hall.

5/20/2013 11:05 a.m.

An iPhone was reported stolen.

5/20/2013 8:49 p.m.

Reports came in about a burning rubber smell on the third floor of the McCormack Building. An officer on the scene also noticed the smell. At 8:56 p.m., someone phoned into the station complaining of smoke in a hallway on the second floor. Facilities arrived to investigate at 9:07 p.m. At 11:10 p.m., another caller complained of smoke on the first floor. Facilities investigated again and found that the smoke was coming from the air conditioner. The cooling system in McCormack Hall was turned off for the night, so that it could be fixed in the morning.

5/21/2013 7:30 a.m.

Facilities requested help directing traffic for 30 minutes so that workers could repair pot holes on University Drive North. The pot holes were the result of heavy overnight rain.

5/21/2013 12:39 p.m.

Someone in the Sodexo kitchen called to report their shoes stolen, but was gone when a police officer came to investigate. The individual then walked to the station to file a report in person.

5/21/2013 1:39 p.m.

A driver on Bianculli Boulevard was ticketed for speeding, not having a license in the vehicle, and using a defective seatbelt on a child.

5/21/2013 3:56 p.m.

A driver in Lot B accidentally backed into a truck with its tailgate down, causing minor damage to the vehicles.

5/22/2013 7:43 a.m.

A false fire alarm went off in the mechanic room on the Lower Level of the Campus Center.

5/22/2013 9:52 a.m.

A woman working in Student Activities reported that a man claiming to be from her office was selling paintball tickets from a clipboard in classrooms on campus. The tickets were counterfeit. 

5/23/2013 4:29 p.m.

After picking up her baby from daycare, the wife of a UMass Boston staff member accidentally locked her keys in her car. Officers met the woman at the Bayside Bus Stop and freed the child from the car.

5/23/2013 9:06 p.m.

A driver went the wrong way on University Drive South.

5/24/2013 7:30 a.m.

The woman who first reported the cushions missing from the bench outside of her office called in to say that the same cushions had been moved into the bathroom again.

5/24/2013 10:35 a.m.

A lunchbox was left unattended in the Science Center and logged into the Lost and Found at the Department of Campus Safety.

5/24/2013 12:40 p.m.

An accident took place in the Beacon Parking Lot.

Another driver went the wrong way on University Drive North.

5/25/2013 12:11 p.m.

A professor received an email from a student who has suicidal thoughts. Neither the professor nor the student were on campus at the time. Officers performed a wellbeing check on the student at the student’s apartment.
