Men’s Basketball (3-3 Overall, 0-0 LEC)
The Beacons Men’s Basketball team opened up their season at the Ken Wright Memorial Invitational Tournament hosted by Amherst College during the weekend of November 22-23. After dropping the first game 94-74 to Nichols College, the team bounced back with hard-fought 77-68 win in the Consolation game over Newbury College. Carl Joseph lead the way with 26 points and Gregory Young added 23. Joseph, who was named to the All-Tournament Team and was tagged as the Little East Conference Player of the Week, also recorded 10 rebounds in the win. On Nov. 26, the Beacons defeated Suffolk University 79-68. Once again, Carl Joseph led the way with 17 points, Gregory Young, Jerard Mayes and Omar Benabicha all recorded 14 points. Three days later, with UMass Boston hosting the annual Harbor Invitational, the team came back from a 13 point deficit to defeat St. Joseph College, and giving Coach Charlie Titus his 300th career win as Head Coach of the Beacons. BJ Rosary III had 16 points while Mayes and Benachiba each had 15 points. The following day, in the Championship game, the team was unable to upend Wesleyan College, falling 75-64. Carl Joseph had a career-high-tying 26 points and was once again named to the All-Tournament Team. Jerard Mayes, who was also named to the All-Tournament Team, chipped in with 15 points. On Dec. 3 at home against a good MIT squad, the Beacons dropped a hard-fought 69-63 contest. Joseph once again led the way with 13 points, while Mayes and Benachiba each had 12 points. The Beacons take on conference-rival Keene State at home on Dec. 7, then head to Rhode Island to take on RIC the following week on Dec. 14.
Women’s Basketball (4-1 Overall, 0-0 LEC)
Women’s Basketball has gotten off to a hot start to their season, going 4-1 to open up the campaign. On Nov. 21, the team fell 58-47 to Wesleyan in the first round of the Courtyard Marriott Classic. Andrea Suffredini led the way with a double-double, recording 11 points and 10 rebounds. In the Consolation game the following day, the team defeated Albertus Magnus in overtime by a score of 84-80. Lauren Perra recorded 18 points and Olivia Murphy had a double-double with 16 points and 16 rebounds in the win. Three days later, the Lady Beacons went on the road to defeat Fitchburg State 59-47. Murphy’s huge game (26 points 16 rebounds),  Lauren Perra’s eight points, and Andrea Suffredini’s seven points led the way for the Lady Beacons. For her efforts, Murphy was named Little East Conference Player of the Week. However, on Dec. 3, Murphy topped that performance with a program record-tying 33 points, leading the Lady Beacons to a 79-41 thumping over Mount Ida at the Clark Athletic Center. Kirsten Morrison chipped in with eight points to help the team win their third straight. The team then takes on Keene State College at home on Dec. 7, then heads to Westfield State on Dec. 12. Two days later, the Lady Beacons will head to Rhode Island College to take on the conference rival Anchorwomen.
Men’s Hockey (4-1-2 Overall, 1-1-2 ECAC East)
Coming off two straight tied games against Conference rivals Castleton State College and Skidmore, the team traveled to Manchester, New Hampshire to compete in the Manchester PAL/Stovepipe Tournament. In the first game, Nathan Milam, Jeremy Finger, and Connor McStravick all scored over a span of four minutes and 55 seconds in the second period, while Zach Andrews stopped 31 of 32 shots to lead the Beacons to a 3-1 win over Johnson & Wales. The following day, the team defeated the University of New England behind Peter MacIntyre’s second career hat trick. Cody Dixon and Mike Kuhn also scored while Andrews stopped 31 of 33 shots.  MacIntyre was named Tournament MVP and, along with Cody Dixon and Andrew Crawford, were named to the All-Tournament Team, while Andrews was named ECAC East Goalie of the Week. It is the fifth Manchester PAL/Stovepipe Tournament title in the last six seasons and second in a row for the Beacons. The team next has a rematch at the University of New England on Dec. 6, then travels to the University of Southern Maine the following day. The next week, the Beacons return home to face Wentworth.
Women’s Hockey (2-6-1 Overall, 1-4 ECAC East)
On, Nov. 23, the Women’s Hockey team fell 4-1 to Salve Regina down in Rhode Island. Samantha Fallon scored the only goal of the game for the Lady Beacons. Three nights later, the team suffered a heartbreaking 2-1 loss to Bowdoin College. Tori Pizzuto scored the lone Lady Beacons goal while Casey Schaejbe made 26 saves. On Dec. 1, the Beacons snapped their three game losing streak by defeating Colby College on the road, 4-3. Samantha Fallon had a big night, scoring two goals and registering an assist. Jenny Currie and Tori Pizzuto also scored as the Beacons held off Colby. The Beacons next take the ice on Dec. 6 at home vs. Southern Maine and then head to Connecticut the next day to face Trinity College.
