Stars light up the red carpet at the Oscars

86th Academy Awards

The highly anticipated 86th Academy Awards debuted an array of celebrity hits on the red carpet on Sunday, March 2. Actors including Kevin Spacey, Jared Leto, Sandra Bullock, and Lupita Nyong’o graced the award show with envy-inspiring styles.

Lupita Nyong’o looked elegant and sweet in a powder-blue Prada gown which was custom-made for her first time at the Oscars. The flowing A-line Prada gown had a plunging neckline and back that she paired with Fred Leighton jewelry, making her look simply effortless. She could do no wrong.

Sandra Bullock took our breath away in a deep-navy Alexander McQueen mermaid-style gown and Lorraine Schwartz earrings. The sweetheart neckline combined with Bullock’s wavy brown locks draped over her shoulder made her a red carpet classic beauty.

Another classic beauty is Cate Blanchett, who inevitably won Best Actress. Blanchett adorned a beaded nude Armani dress with matching drop Chopard earrings. Her hair was simple, yet made her overall appearance sophisticated and stunning.

Capes are trending this award season, and Kate Hudson joined in with a glimmering white Versace gown and a shoulder-padded matching cape. Although not nominated, she looked like a winner. Though it would’ve been better if she had kept the cape on throughout the show.

And let’s not forget about the men. Nothing beats a handsome man in a well-fitted suit.

Best dressed in a classic black tux is none other than Leonardo DiCaprio. Although he didn’t win Best Actor, he’s a winner in our book.
Kevin Spacey was as handsome as he was enjoyable at the Oscars in his navy Burberry tux.
Matching white blazer duo, Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto both went home with a golden statue. McConaughey chose a black bow-tie with a Dolce & Gabbana jacket, while Leto went for a bold red to pair with Saint Laurent.
