Construction Update Correction

Holly Sutherland, the Director of Construction Communications has pointed out some inaccuracies in an article published by the Mass Media, titled ‘October 16 Construction News.’ She provided the following corrections:
The first residence hall is scheduled for construction near the softball field on the space where Parking Lot B was previously located. Part of it will also stand on Lot C and the roadway there. The second residence hall will be built on Parking Lot D.
Sutherland says 600 new parking spots will be created on the Bayside property after workers demolish the Expo Center building. A 1,400 space parking garage will be built on campus, and not at Bayside as previously reported. The university is in the process of choosing a location for this garage, although it will either be located between the Quinn Administration Building and the Boston College High School campus, or next to the Calf Pasture Pumping Station and adjacent to the Edward M. Kennedy Institute. The UMass Building Authority is in the process of hiring a designer for this parking garage.
