Conlon had a tough time on Monday. Although it was his first marathon, he decided to take on the course in record heat. He ran up until the 19th mile, before slowing down and having to walk the remaining 7 miles, pausing to sit down a few times. He was on pace for 3 and a half hours, but finished the race just above the five hour mark. It was a dangerous race, with thousands of runners deferring to next year and hundreds taking advantage of the medical tents along the course. Matt said he plans on running next year and making massive improvements on this year’s time.
