Men’s Soccer Weighed Down By Anchormen of Rhode Island College

The UMass men’s soccer team played Rhode Island College last Saturday afternoon in Providence, Rhode Island. Unfortunately the Beacons lost the match 4-0. The loss dropped the team to a 3-7 overall record, and 0-2 in the Little East Conference.

Although the Beacons managed to get off 13 shots, RIC goalkeeper Carlos Pinhacos saw to it that the ball either went wide of the net or into his hands, as he recorded seven saves. Two Beacons goalkeepers saw action. Chris Joseph made three saves and Mike Tady tallied one.

Offensively, RIC got goals from four different players. Brian Schimmel and Jason Williamson scored in the first half, while Scott Main and Ivo Luis got the Anchormen’s third and fourth goals in the second half.
