Sharon Ghantous, a.k.a Millennium Mermaid, a music student at UMass will be performing at the Student End of the Semester Party (brought to you by the Women’s Center) December 6 at 5:30 at the Harbor Gallery in the McCormick Building. Millennium Mermaid will perform “Unite,” an original song she wrote and produced. Her brother, Sami Ghantous will accompany her and play various hand drums.
This performance should be quite a sight. The dance song is a mix of electronic dance and Arabic music, with an upbeat and positive permeating vibe.
Sharon is half Lebanese, and lived in Kuwait for eight years; she feels her song really reflects what is going on in the world today, during these times of serious turmoil between the Middle East and America. She would like to sing “Unite” to the world and hopes they all will listen and act accordingly.
Come and enjoy a performance like none you have ever seen, Thursday, December 6, at the Harbor Art Gallery, as Sharon and her brother perform “Unite.” Take the opportunity to see the Millenium Mermaid, while she is still a new and aspiring artist, then you can say “I saw her when….”
