The men’s hockey team split a pair of road games last weekend in Connecticut, losing 10-0 to Trinity College and winning a close one, 3-2 against Wesleyan. The victory over Wesleyan was the Beacons’ first of the season, leaving them with a record of 1-4-1.
UMB Sophomore Mike O’Sullivan had another big game by potting two goals in the third period, including the game winner. O’Sullivan was named the ECAC III East Player of the Week for the week of November 18.
Goaltender Jonathan Serriello had a huge game in net, coming up with 45 saves. Wesleyan scored the first goal of the game, a power play goal in the second period. But the Beacons played a solid game while shorthanded, frustrating Wesleyan’s seven other power play opportunities.
Julian Giantonio capitalized on the Beacons’ second power play of the game, scoring at 13:07 of the second period to tie the game 1-1. O’Sullivan then took control of the third period with his play.
