Halle Berry has earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame to go along with her an Emmy and a Golden Globe awards for “Introducing Dorothy Dandridge” and her Oscar for “Monster’s Ball.” “I am so emotional … as soon as I saw the crowds of people and friends here, I started to cry,” she said. Berry, 40, co-stars with Bruce Willis in the upcoming film, “Perfect Stranger,” which opens April 13.
Her love ain’t his love… it’s official, Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown are officially divorced. This train-wreck has been fascinating to watch over the last 14 years… with allegations of domestic abuse, jail time on Bobby’s part and rehab on Whitney’s. Now that it’s over, all the entertainment rags will have to cover will be the paternity suit hounding late Anna Nicole Smith’s daughter, Dannielynn.
Joke’s on Keith, it seems. Rolling Stone Keith Richards made a joke about snorting some of his deceased father’s ashes with cocaine. Disney executives are pretty pissed, so the rock star has been dropped from the line-up promoting the new “Pirates of the Caribbean” movie. Dennis Rice, Disney’s senior vice president for publicity, said: “When (a senior Disney publicist) forwarded the ashes story to me, I thought, ‘How are we going to spin this?'” Apparently, there’s no angle that looked good. Rolling Stones representatives supported Richards’ position, saying: “It was an off-the-cuff remark, a joke, and it is not true. File under April Fool’s joke.”
It’s nice when you can afford a $20 glass of lemonade. Actor and director George Clooney believes in supporting entrepreneurship. When a family of three brothers whose first names all begin with the letter ‘C’ set up a lemonade stand charging 25 cents, the actor dropped by for some refreshment and left a $20 bill for it. Now that’s generosity.
There was a persistent rumor that phone calls from Indian call centers were at least partly responsible for talentless singer Sanjaya Malakar’s success on “American Idol.” (He made the final eight.) However, this rumor has been debunked, as most call centers are computer-operated and leave operators no ability to make their own phone calls. Plus, Malakar is apparently an “object of ridicule” in India, according to the popular blog, “India Uncut.”
