On Wednesday November 14, the Mauricio Gaston Institute for Latino Community Development and Public Policy will be hosting a presentation by Research Associate for The Urban Institute in Washington, DC, Rosa Maria Castaneda.
The presentation entitled “Pay the Price: The Impact of Immigration Raids on America’s Children” will take place from 1:00-2:30pm in room 211 of the Campus Center’s Upper Level.
Ms. Castaneda will report on a recently completed study commissioned by the National Council of La Raza on the consequences of worksite enforcement raids conducted by the Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The report focuses on the consequences for children, families and communities in three cities affected by recent worksite raids, including New Bedford, MA.
Ms. Castaneda, who led the fieldwork and co-authored the study, will discuss the findings and recommendations.
