Lesley takes down UMass women’s soccer 5-0The Beacons went into their game against Lesley hoping to string together their first consecutive win streak of the season. However, Lesley seemed to have other plans for this game as they continue to win improving their record to 14-3-1. UMass dropped to 5-10-1, giving them their highest win total since 1997 when they finished 6-10-1 with only Plymouth State left to play.
UMass had a couple opportunities to score during this one, hitting the crossbar, and Lesley goalkeeper Hailee Lowe just wasn’t letting anything past. Lowe tallied her ninth shutout of this season for Lesley.
Women’s Tennis takes seventh in Little East ChampionshipThe women’s tennis team here at UMass had a very interesting end to this 2007 season. Senior Aurora Lormeus who has been on point throughout the year, made it to the singles final match but was beaten by number one seed Megan Cote. Double partners Lormeus and Emily Johnson have made quite the duo this past season, and this tournament was no different. They took down two opponents into the final match where they were edged out by the number one seeded Meg Funk and partner Sasha Doonan of Rhode Island College.
UMass finished the season with a record of 2-8, and a 1-6 record in the Little East Conference.
