September 1812:54 p.m.: A false fire alarm was set off in McCormack. Construction crew working on an elevator set off the alarm by mistake.

7:09 p.m.: Campus Police assisted Boston Police with a foot chase on Old Colony Rd. in Dorchester. The chase resulted in an arrest.

September 199:05 a.m.: Campus Police were called to the Campus Center for a medical assist. A person fell while walking, and they were transported to the hospital with an ankle injury. Man, I thought I was clumsy and unlucky.

8:16 p.m.: A party was disgruntled about fees the library was charging them for overdue books. While something like this happened about two days before, this person took it a bit further: they made comments about things relative to Virginia Tech happening at UMass Boston. This incident was referred to the Dean of Students. Hey. Guess what? Not cool. At all.

September 2010:33 a.m.: A man in the Quinn Administration building was complaining of chest pains and an ambulance was called. However, when the ambulance arrived, the guy refused to leave.

September 2110:44 a.m.: A domestic disturbance was reported in the South Lot. The report filed said that a male and a female were arguing…over a cell phone. That’s right, folks. A cellular telephone. Because, you know, there isn’t anything worthwhile in the world to argue over.

1:27 p.m.: A disturbance was reported on the plaza of the Science building. A male was yelling loudly in front of offices on that level. He must have found out about our “Top 5 Places to Have Sex on Campus” a little early and was a little mad that we found his “secret spot.” Sorry.

September 228:50 p.m.: A 12-year-old boy was reported missing in the Clark Athletic Center near the ice rink. He was found a couple of minutes later and returned to his father.

September 239:14 a.m.: A Crystal Transport bus hit a banner that was advertising the Komen Race for the Cure race that was happening on campus. The hit to the banner brought down some scaffolding, which fell on a police cruiser, doing serious damage to the car.

2:23 p.m.: A man was assaulted and robbed by four juvenile males near the waterfront of the UMass Boston campus. The boys were arrested and arraigned on Sept. 24.
