The Star you See

More than one year removed from New England College’s bench, Maria Nasta continues to improve and impress on the ice.

The Lady Beacons’ top offensive threat, Nasta was named ECAC Women’s East Player of the Week last week, thanks to a flurry of points in UMass Boston’s 8-0 thumping of Plymouth State College.

Nasta netted two goals in the game and also assisted on three others, giving her a team-leading 35 points as of last Wednesday. The sophomore’s 24 assists are tops on the Lady Beacons, while her 11 goals are good enough for third.

Nasta, who is one of the most explosive players in ECAC Women’s East hockey, is currently sixth overall in conference games, tallying 1.50 points per in 18 conference matchups.
