Lauren Duran’s nagging injuries aren’t going to stop her from leading the Lady Beacons on the ice.
Duran, a sophomore forward, missed three games earlier this season with an elbow injury and is now battling an ankle injury which she suffered during a loss to Middlebury College January 20, but she hasn’t let it affect her scoring touch. The top goal scorer on the Beacons with 14, Duran lit the lamp three times in the past two games, leading to a hard-earned three points in ECAC East play.
“She is always in corners and in front of the net getting banged around,” coach Maura Crowell said, “but she always bounces back.”
Two of Duran’s goals came in the Lady Beacons’ 4-1 win over conference opponent MIT last Tuesday while the other was a crucial game-tying tally against Saint Michael’s four days prior which led to a 2-2 tie.
