Men’s Ice Hockey: The Beacons had a very successful start to their season on Oct. 27. In the first game of the season, the Beacons defeated Wentworth 9-2 on the strength of Nolan Redler’s hat trick. The team followed that win with a 6-1 victory over Curry College the next night, with Colin Larkin picking up the hat trick this time. After his strong performance, Larkin was named New England Hockey Conference’s Player of The Week, and Nick Albano was named Rookie of The Week after his six-point weekend. The Beacons currently sit at 2-0 overall, with their first intra-conference matchup next against Norwich.
Volleyball: After three wins on the weekend starting Oct. 27, the Beacons now sit at 13-15 overall and 6-1 in their conference. That puts them at second in the Little East Conference (LEC) standing, only behind Keene State. The team has their eyes set on the LEC tournament, with their first matchup scheduled for Nov. 2.
Men’s Soccer: After a loss to Western Connecticut State University, the Beacons fell to the three-seed in the LEC standings. The team holds a 4-2-1 record against their conference opponents. The Beacons will head to Providence on Nov. 1 to face Rhode Island College as they open the LEC Tournament.
Women’s Soccer: After losing their first five games, the UMass Boston Women’s Soccer team responded with an effort that earned them a spot in the LEC Tournament. The team earned the four-seed in the tournament, and will play Rhode Island College on Oct. 31.
