Volleyball: After a big victory over Plymouth State University on Oct. 11, the Beacons fell 3-1 to Roger Williams University on Oct. 13. Luckily, the team still leads the Little East Conference at 4-0, despite losing to the out-of-conference Roger Williams. The Beacons have three conference games remaining in the season, and if they win those, they should earn the top spot in the LEC once again.
Women’s Soccer: After going 0-6 their first six games, and 1-8 in their first nine, the Lady Beacons of soccer have responded with a four-game winning streak capped off most recently by a tie with Colby Sawyer College. The team has an overall record of 3-8-2, but boasts a respectable intra-conference record of 2-1-1. With three games left within the conference, and sitting at fourth place in the standings, the team has time to run in a very close race for the conference’s top spot.
Men’s Soccer: After a loss at Springfield College on Oct. 10, the UMass Boston Men’s Soccer team sits with an overall record of 7-3-2 and an intra-conference record of 3-1, putting them atop the conference. With three games left within the conference, the Beacons have time to separate themselves and hopefully take home the top spot in the LEC tournament. In what was supposed to be a big year for the men’s soccer program, the Beacons have not disappointed in their quest to win the NCAA Tournament.
Women’s Tennis: After a 6-3 win over Western Connecticut State University, the UMass Boston Women’s Tennis team has clinched their third consecutive trip to the LEC tournament. Hoping to build on last season, the team will head back into the postseason with a chance to make the women’s tennis program at UMass Boston an established one within the LEC.
