A smooth, progressive, guitar strumming begins. Enter finger picking banjo, mandolin, bass, and harmonizing vocals. It sounds like your usual run of the mill Bluegrass ensemble, but you’d be surprised when you hear the sound coming from these four North Carolina natives. Sure, many of the songs off of their new album Wildwood fit well into a Bluegrass suit, but the overall feeling of the album is one that is much more progressive; it bridges the gaps between genres. The band will be coming to play at Club Passim in Cambridge Sunday, July 18th as part of a tour to promote their latest album. The best way to describe the sound of the album is bittersweet. The album has the ability to remind you that when all is lost, a light shines on the horizon. Their sound is a warm safety blanket made of melodies on a cold, dismal night. Check back after the show to read about the interview with the band.
