Baseball: After starting strong in their return to New England, the University of Massachusetts Boston Beacons were able to extend their winning streak to six games last weekend with a sweep of Keene State College. They won the first game of the double header 3–2, and then won the second matchup more convincingly, 11–2. Junior Ryan McCormick had a big day, as he drove in four runs on four hits between the two games. Another impressive stat from the day came in the second game, where senior Nick Herzog was able to tie the program record with four stolen bases in the win. Since then, the Beacons have taken a bit of a step back this week. UMass Dartmouth took them down 8–2, followed by a 20–8 beat down from Western New England University. Back to back losses are rare for UMass Boston baseball, but look for them to shake it off and bounce back. They have fallen to number 23 in the power rankings with a record of 8–6, but will have plenty of time to crack back into the top 20. This week, the Beacons will play at Endicott College at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, then will host Mitchell College at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday, ending the week with a home double header beginning at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. 
Softball: UMass Boston softball had a rough go of it last weekend, as Plymouth State University swept them and held the Beacons to only two runs in each game. Following the two losses, UMass Boston split a double header against Salve Regina University. In their latest game, the Beacons won a thriller in extra innings against Bridgewater State University, 14–12. Juniors Ari Bilotta (five RBI) and Giovanna Bonilla (three RBI) stood out on the day. To no one’s surprise, senior Roxanne Vento has continued to rake, as she now has 20 runs batted in to go along with a batting average of .534. As far as pitching goes, junior Jess Greenspan is now 7–3 on the year with a 3.41 earned run average and 39 strikeouts. The Beacons have a current record of 9–8, and will have a chance to improve on it as early as their next match at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, when they begin a double header at UMass Dartmouth. They will then host Framingham State University for a double header at 3 p.m. on Thursday, and wrap up the week with a double header at Eastern Connecticut State University, beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday. 
Lacrosse: Unfortunately, the Beacons lacrosse team has been unable to win a game since returning from their trip to Florida. They have lost five straight games and sit at 1–7 on the season. The good news is that there is still plenty of time to turn things around, and they have not had a home game since March 5. Junior Ned Parker and sophomore Conor Lenfest lead the team in points—Parker with 18 and Lenfest with 17. This week, the Beacons will host Castleton University at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, followed by a visit UMass Dartmouth at noon on Saturday.
Men’s Tennis: The UMass Boston men’s tennis team now sits at 2–3 and is coming off of a big win at Suffolk University, 8–1. The Beacons won all six of their singles matches and only suffered one defeat in their three doubles matches. Seniors Tin Tan and Ray Platteel each had impressive wins to help lead UMass Boston to victory. The Beacons have a busy week ahead of them as they will be competing in three matches, all on the road. The first will be at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Salem State University. They will then travel to Vermont for the weekend, for a 1 p.m. game on Saturday at Castleton University, followed by a game at noon on Sunday against St. Michael’s College.
