Baseball: The University of Massachusetts Boston Beacons baseball team played excellent last week, in which they went 4–1 and scored a lot of runs. They swept Eastern Connecticut State University, lost to the University of Southern Maine, beat Salem State University, and capped off the week defeating Suffolk University. In fact, their best win came against Suffolk, as they won 14–4 and had some good individual performances. Junior Nick Cotraro had three hits and drove in three runs, while seniors Eddie Riley and Josh Lopez drove in a pair of runs each. UMass Boston is now 17–10 overall and 6–3 in the Little East Conference, with 12 total games remaining on the schedule. This week, the Beacons will head to Brandeis University for a double header today beginning at 5 p.m., then will play at Nichols College on Thursday at 3 p.m., and will end the week with a double header at Rhode Island College at noon. 
Softball: UMass Boston softball could not have asked for a more successful week as they went 4–0, thanks to two sweeps. The first came against Keene State College and the second was against Salem State University. Keene State college was quite the opponent, as both games ended with a score of 2–1 in favor of the Beacons. In game one, the Beacons won in walk-off fashion in eight innings as freshman Britney Perkett scored the winning run on an error. Junior Jess Greenspan pitched all eight innings and only gave up one run on four hits. She then got the start in game two as well, where she went 5.1 innings and only gave up one run once again, eventually earning her second win on the day after freshman Hayley Catania came in to get the save. The matchup against Salem State University was a totally different story, as the two games ended 12–4 and 15–1, both in five innings. Sophomore Tori Dicenso had a big day, as she drove in five runs thanks to two home runs in game two. This week, the Beacons will host Castleton University for a double header Tuesday beginning at 3:30 p.m., will travel to the University of Southern Maine on Thursday for a double header at 3 p.m., and then will cap off the week at Babson College for a Saturday double header starting at noon.
Lacrosse: After finally ending their losing streak, the Beacons lacrosse team lost a couple of close games this past week. They played at Eastern Connecticut State University, and lost 14–13 in overtime. It was an excruciating loss that left the Beacons with a record of 2–11. Sophomore Conor Lenfest had four goals while junior Ned Parker added three. UMass Boston then lost to New England College 17–8 in a game in which they played from behind the entire time. Next week, they will travel to the University of Southern Maine on Tuesday for a game at 7 p.m., and will wrap up the season with a home game against Western Connecticut State University on Friday at 7 p.m. Hopefully the Beacons can finish their year on a high note.
