Baseball: The University of Massachusetts Boston Beacons baseball went 3–2 this past week which puts their record on the season at 13–9. They split a double header against Plymouth State University, defeated the University of Southern Maine and Roger Williams University, and lost to Babson College. Freshman Dylan Fashempour pitched another great game against the University of Southern Maine, in which he threw six shutout innings and struck out six batters, eventually earning the win on the day. Aside from Fashempour, junior Ben Gottesman and sophomore Tylor Arruda were the other pitchers who also earned wins on the week thanks to their solid performances. The only two Beacons with multi-RBI games last week came from senior Nick Herzog in the loss to Babson College, and junior Anthony Cecere in the win over the University of Southern Maine. This week, the Beacons will play at the University of Southern Maine at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, at Salem State University at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, at home against Suffolk University at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, and then will travel to Western Connecticut University for a double header beginning at noon on Saturday. This is now back-to-back weeks in which the Beacons will play five games, so it will be interesting to see if fatigue will play a factor.
Softball: UMass Boston Softball had a relatively subpar week in which they went 1–3, including getting swept by Eastern Connecticut State University. They won the second game of a double header against Lesley University to avoid going a winless 0–4 for the week. Although they have a 15–12 overall record, they have a 3–5 conference record which will be important to improve on for postseason seeding in the Little East Conference Tournament. Senior Taylor Pawlina, sophomores Gigi Braga and Kelly Danahy and junior Ari Bilotta all had multi-RBI games on the week. The Beacons will host Salem State University for a double header at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday and will then play in a double header at Rhode Island College at 1 p.m. on Saturday. 
Lacrosse: After losing eight straight games, the Beacons finally broke their losing streak and blew out Salem State University 13–3. Freshman Donny Bickford stood out in the game with not only a hat trick, but he added an assist as well. Another freshman, Jeremy Girard, had two goals himself, while junior Ned Parker also scored twice. This week UMass Boston will have the comfort of playing two home games. The first will be under the lights at 7 p.m. on Tuesday against New England College, and the second will be at 4 p.m. on Saturday against Plymouth State University. The Beacons have an unfortunate record of 2–10 on the year but will look to improve upon their 1–3 conference record. 
Women’s Tennis: UMass Boston’s women’s tennis team got things started again last week, in which they defeated Thomas College (Maine) but then lost to Regis College. They won all five of their singles matches against Thomas College, thanks to junior Katie Gauthier, sophomores Annie Fidelia and Tuyet Nguyen, and freshmen Miranda Harkess and Meaghan Moriarty. But the Beacons were unable to win any of their matches against a superior team in Regis College; however, the effort and fight were clearly present.
