UMass Boston is beginning another school year and with this, comes new events, opportunities and memories to be made! Every year, things change and improve for the better. So now is a better time than ever to start getting involved on campus with some of the activities we offer to our student body. Boston has so many things to do, you don’t want to miss out on these cheap opportunities for students!
Starting Sept. 3rd, the Student Activities Office will be selling $20 Red Sox vs. San Francisco Giants tickets to students for the Sept. 18th game at 7:10 pm. You can find these tickets on the 3rd floor of the Campus Center in the Student Activities Office.
On Sept. 5th there will be a showing of two movies (TBA) under the stairs on the front lawn of the Campus Center. Free snacks and a free night out? Who wouldn’t want to go? Rain location: Campus Center, 3rd floor, ballroom.
On Sept. 7th, student activities will be sponsoring a night on the town! Starting at 6 p.m., you can explore Boston with some new or old friends, but definitely make some new memories! Whether you’ve spent your whole life in Boston, or you’re still figuring your way around, this will be a fun way to experience the city in a new and exciting way.
All throughout September, the Museum of Science is hosting College Fridays. From 5-9 p.m., college students get in free with a student ID every Friday until the end of September! Exhibit Halls admission, including Theater of Electricity, Live Animal shows, and Boston Duck Tours are all offered to students for free. So, it goes beyond just a trip to a museum, they offer many different experiences for all different types of people and interests. TGIF!
Every day, as a UMass Boston student, you have free admission to the MFA! All you have to do is show your ID at the front desk, and it’s all set. The MFA holds their own events, all of which we are able to get into for free! Their exhibits are constantly changing and evolving. Don’t miss out on such a nice perk of being a student in the city!
Every Wednesday, Hyatt Regency Boston hosts a free yoga class at 5:45 p.m. If you’re looking for an excuse to relax or to get out more, here it is! The hotel is conveniently located downtown so there are tons of things to do around there before and after your peaceful yoga session.
As a UMass Boston student, we get tickets to the New England Aquarium for $8, which can be a great rainy day date! We also get discounted movie tickets, and tickets to both the Franklin Park Zoo and Stone Zoo. The opportunities are endless, and if you visit the Student Activities Office, there are always new things listed and tickets available. You’ll never know where you’ll make your favorite college memories.
