Dear Winter,
We have never been friends. Over the years, you have left me cracked lips, dry hands, and far too many cold winter nights. But this year? This year we are especially not friends. Winter season brings colds and sniffling noses, and during a pandemic, that’s not exactly welcome. Besides that, you have me stuck inside to avoid the cold and harsh winds—when I’ve already been stuck inside for a million other reasons!
Not pleased,
Fiona
Dear Winter,
I have met you in many states, but you’re the worst in Massachusetts. Your bitter winds here seem bitterly unfair. You cannot be cold and windy at the same time, that’s a double negative. You punish me, Winter!
Cold and grumpy,
Fiona
Dear Winter,
Today, I reconsider how rude I’ve been to you … it’s difficult to admit wrongdoings, but I have to be honest and say you made me happy today because you covered the world with snow. It was very pretty to look out my window and see the roof and chimney capped with snow. I’ve begun to rethink my position on winter.
Charmed,
Fiona
Dear Winter,
I take it back. Urgh, how I despise you! All your snow melted and now I seem to be living in a gigantic, slimy swimming pool. You drew me in with your temporary beauty, but it was all deception. You are the devil wrapped in a beautiful snow coat. Next year, you won’t trick me again! Mark my words.
With constant vigilance,
Fiona
