The tea is about to be spilled on what is the best store-bought tea for your taste buds, wallet, and my overall favorite. I’m not talking about pre-bagged tea or hot tea here. I am talking about the bottles of tea that sit on the shelf in the grocery store waiting for you to pick them up and drink them. There are six teas under my judgement. Teas’ Tea peach ginger black tea, Snapple’s peach tea, Honest cranberry lemon tea, Runa’s raspberry tea, Pure Leaf peach tea, and Arizona’s green tea. Now, let’s get to tasting!
The first tea I opened was the Teas’ Tea and I was very happy with what I found. It was not too sweet, and it tasted like real peach and ginger as well. Not only that, it was like I was drinking a real, chilled brewed tea. It tasted amazing! It was two dollars for the bottle of tea and it only had 80 calories in it. So, overall I was very happy with this tea.
The next tea I tried was the Snapple peach tea. The mind-blowing flavor of the Tea’s Tea tea was sadly drowned out by an over-sweetened mess of something that barely resembled tea. The flavor was very fake, and anything I tasted was soon killed by the amount of sugar that had been shoved into the bottle. Each bottle of their tea is a $1.25 and the calorie count per bottle is 160. Overall, it was disappointing.
Runa was the next bottle of tea that I opened, and it was very fancy! It had a glass bottle, was organic, and it was proudly made in the USA! As soon as I took a sip, I was hit by the raspberry flavor that it had advertised and it was good. Not only that, this tea was caffeinated with 86 mg of caffeine. They presented themselves almost like they were trying to replace coffee. This was a good tea in my opinion and it is only 90 calories per bottle and two dollars a bottle.
After the refined taste of Runa, I made my way over to a more common tea brand, Pure Leaf peach tea. Each bottle has 150 calories and is only $1.25. When my friend opened the bottle for me, she ended up spilling tea on herself because they filled it to the brim! They did not want anything getting in the way of you and your tea, which I liked. The flavor of the tea was sweet, but not sickening. If I was in the mood for a sweet tea, it would be my first choice.
Now, the next tea was Honest and I am going to be quick because it just tasted like lemonade and will no longer be counted in this due to that fact.
The last tea I tasted was a classic from middle school, Arizona green tea! This can of tea, which is oversized and unable to be closed once you open it, had three servings in it. Even before I tasted the tea, I was annoyed by the inconvenience of the large can. The flavor was not as exciting as the others, and it honestly did not taste like tea to me at all, rather just sugar. Each can of green tea that Arizona sells is only a dollar, and this one in particular had 210 calories per bottle, or 70 calories per serving.
Throughout this process I had a very fun time tasting teas and drinking to my heart’s content but there needs to be a winner for each category I mentioned earlier. The winner for taste is by far the Teas’ Tea because it was very natural tasting and it had just the right amount of sweetness. The winner for your wallet is Arizona green tea because it is so cheap and sometimes you can find it on sale. Last but not least, the overall best tea is the True Leaf tea due to the fact that it is inexpensive and packed with flavor.
