Calling all graduate students, faculty, staff, and alumni! Want to dine fancy on campus? Then come visit the University Dining Club! The University Dining Club (UDC) is located on the second floor of the Campus Center, and is available to all University of Massachusetts Boston members, except for undergraduate students.
According to the UMass Boston website, “The University Dining Club was founded in 1970 as the Faculty Club, five years after the opening of the campus in 1965. While it is only open during lunch hours, members can get a three- to four-course meal for around $12!”
On top of the incredible views, you can choose a buffet-style meal to keep your stomach happy and full. The UDC offers a fall salad bar, drinks, coffee, desert, two to three entrée options per day and two soups per day. Make sure to go on to the dining services website to discover the menu. Every meal is served on fine china, giving an extra perk and fancy feel to the UDC.
You can come into the UDC on a first come, first serve basis from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday, during the spring and fall semesters only. Make sure you stop by early, as the UDC serves roughly 75 to 150 guests per day. Coming with a group? Make a reservation by calling the catering office. The UDC can accommodate reservations for a group of 10-12 guests.
This dining experience is much different than other locations on campus. All menu items are cooked from scratch and are prepared the same day. Plus, it’s a great getaway place for you to take a break from learning. The UDC has a quiet environment, and great views of the campus and the greater Boston area.
The UDC is always open to suggestions on how they can make the environment better for its members. Should you have any questions about the UDC, please email dining services.
