The SAEC (Student Arts and Events Council) always manages to plan interesting and entertaining events for the entire campus to take part in and this year, the Spring Ball is sure to be no different. The Vegas-themed extravaganza is a celebration of the accomplishments of the semester and a way for the community of UMB to rejoice in the fact that the semester is over. Let’s face it, it’s something all students have been looking forward to since the semester began.
The Spring Ball will be held at the Venezia Waterfront Restaurant and Function hall located in Dorchester. The Ball is scheduled to take place on the 15th of April, between the hours of 7 PM and 12 AM.
“We wanted a fun-loving vibe to this celebration and the Vegas theme encompasses that mood,” said Izzy Pulido, a co-Student Programming Coordinator for the SAEC. She continued, “Las Vegas embodies enjoyment andentertainment.”
A critique of UMass Boston that seems to never go away is the lack of community between the students. The Student Arts and Events Council work every semester to create a sense of community by throwing events like the upcoming spring ball. “This ball is a chance to cater to the students’ needs of the non-existent social climate here at UMass. We want to make this university more in tune with developing strong friendships,” said Pulido.
The Venezia Waterfront Restaurant and Function hall address is 20 Ericsson Street. The event is taking place on the 15th of April with tickets costing 25 dollars.
