The Advocacy Resource for Modern Survival group, in cooperation with Masspirg, will be heading off a campus-wide food drive from Monday, February 14th through the 18th.
Goods collected will be donated to Campus Kitchens. Be on the lookout for the eye-catching receptacles strategically placed around campus. Acceptable donations include non-perishable canned food or dry stock in its original package and clearly labeled.
For a chance to be more involved in the fight against hunger and homelessness, join the A.R.M.S center on Feb 28th in the Ryan Lounge in McCormack to listen to speakers talk about the difficulties facing many students and how we might assuage their suffering. This will not be a just talk – real plans will be made for real actions. This event is not just about recognizing a problem but actually coming up with viable solutions to a nationwide epidemic of homelessness.
The problem of student homelessness is a real and growing one. Only student involvement can prompt action form the administration. Don’t turn your head – take notice, get active, and be heard.
