Running for Student Trustee:
Patnea Fatemi Ardestani (Junior, Biology Major):
“As you begin to cast your votes for Student Trustee, know that I am committed to give you the time needed to discuss and voice your ideas. Through various positions held on campus, I have come to understand the amount of work and involvement needed to ensure that student’s needs are being met.”
Philip McLaughlin (Junior, Political Science Major):
“As trustee, I pledge never to vote to raise fees. I will also lobby for funding. I will work to bring the Wellman Document to empower students and make sure we have a voice in decision making. We need a seat at the table for decisions on our future.”
Mohammed Uddin (Freshman, Political Science Major):
“I’m Mohammed Uddin and I want to be your Student Trustee. Speaking with students in the cafeteria, UMass Boston has a diverse and ambitious student body that aspires to be great. I want to cultivate this and echo the wants of the students. I promise to lobby state legislatures and get as much funding for UMass Boston as possible. There are many great things here, but also, many things to improve on: the cafeteria, transparency, and recreational sports. Let’s come together and make UMass Boston work for the students, not the other way around.”
Matthew Quattruci (Economics Major)
“I will fight for your voice to be heard. I will work to make UMass Boston a better place. As your Student Trustee, I want to do everything I can to make this school work for you and improve community life. Please feel free to reach out to me with any of your concerns, ideas for improving the school, or any questions you have about me. As your student trustee, I vow to safeguard the interests of the student body, allocate funds for organizations that students are passionate about, and work to improve the community experience at UMass Boston. As your trustee, I guarantee to be the best avenue for the student voice to be heard.”
Running for President & Vice-President:
Ciro Castaldi (Junior, Management Major) & Kendra Ford (Junior, Political Science Major)
“Ciro Castaldi and Kendra Ford desire a campus that grows with its students. A student centered campus means addressing inclusiveness, student representation, accessibility, and safety. By encouraging more student representation on decision making committees, transparency is created between students and administration. Students at UMass Boston should be heard and represented.”
Jack Leeber (CN) & Katie Mitrano (CLA)
“A vote for Jack and Katie is a vote for a better institution. We are ready to hear your issues and make a change. We are here to make a difference and help you get the most of your college experience.”
Mykiel Williams (Junior, CLA) & Caio Alvim (Junior, CLA)
“Advocacy, community, representation: from super seniors to first-years, these are the values that bring us together. These are the values that Williams and Alvim will bring to the Undergraduate Student Government in 2016, but not without your vote. Vote Williams and Alvim 2016: UMB for You and Me”
