9/26/2016
6:37 a.m. – Officers from the Department of Public Safety (DPS) were called to McCormack Hall after a professor found a Nazi sticker in elevator #3. Facilities Department was called to remove the sticker.
10:37 a.m. – DPS called Parking and Transportation and Facilities Department after an officer reported that there was a loss of power. The officer noted that only one of the toll booths was working. P&T and Facilities reported that they were sending their personnel over.
12:10 p.m. – DPS received a call about suspicious notes posted in one of the elevators in McCormack Hall. Officers reported that the notes were in an “Asian like writing” on lime green paper where the evacuation plans were supposed to be. Officers told dispatch that the notes did not appear to be suspicious and that they would take them down.
3:05 p.m. – A female party came to the DPS office to report that her car had been keyed in the Beacons Parking Lot.
10:14 p.m. – Officers arrested Helton Andrade of Dorchester after conducting a motor vehicle stop on University Drive West. Officers arrested Andrade after finding 147.5 grams of marijuana in his vehicle. Chevy Automobile Body of Dorchester was called to tow away Andrade’s car. Andrade was charged with possession and intent to distribute a Class D controlled substance.

5:23 p.m. – Officers conducted a wellbeing check after a female party called from the Campus Center to report that she was not feeling well. The female party complained of a stomach ache, but was able to walk. The female declined any medical care and was able to walk and talk. The female believed that the stomach ache may have been caused by her taking caffeine and medication.
5:58 p.m. – A male party came to the DPS office wanting to speak to an officer about a text message he received. The male told DPS that he did not know who sent the text and he believed it to be a threat. Officers took a report.

12:06 a.m. – The supervisor of the Campus Center bookstore called to report that one of the employees had caught a male party stealing headphones. The supervisor told DPS that the event had happened at 9 a.m. The officer was called away for a fire alarm call. DPS was able to get a security tape that’d recorded the larceny. The officer was able to get the male party’s name and picture from it.
12:10 p.m. – DPS officers were called to the Integrated Science Center after an alarm was pulled in 1st floor atrium. Facilities Department was notified. Boston Fire Department arrived on scene. Upon talking to people, officers found that a party had accidentally pulled the alarm thinking it was the handicap button to open the door. Officers were able to get the student’s ID number, but were unable to locate the student.
7:20 p.m. – DPS was called to McCormack Hall after a female party reported that there was a male party with a walker lying on the first floor near the gym with all his belongings around him. The female spoke to the male who stated that he was fine. The female called DPS to get a second opinion. Officers helped to put the male party in a chair and the male did not request medical care. Officers were able to contact the mother of the male and updated her on her son’s situation and asked if she could come and pick him up. The mother told officers that she would come immediately. Officers went to University Health Services to see if there was a wheelchair available to help take the male party to the Campus Center circle. Officers were able to get the wheelchair and the male party was picked up by his mother
7:34 p.m. – Two female parties came to the DPS office to report that their iPhones had been stolen from the female locker room in the Clark Athletic Center. The females told officers that the event occurred around 5-5:30 p.m. when the females went to practice.

11:07 a.m. – A party came to the DPS office to report that a school issued laptop was stolen from the Campus Center on September 26.
1:23 p.m. – Officers were called to Bianculli Boulevard Outbound to conduct a well-being check for a female who was pulled over on the side of the road. Upon arrival, officers found the female out of her car screaming and counting her pills. Officers cleared the scene after being told that someone would come and pick the car up.
2:01 p.m. – DPS security guards were called to Wheatley Hall after a female called claiming to be stuck in an elevator. DPS dispatch attempted to call the female back, but were unable to reach her. The elevator was checked and was found to be empty and running.
2:59 p.m. – Larry Lamar of Dorchester was arrested for possession of and intent to pass counterfeit money, forgery of money, conspiracy, and intent to defraud. An arrest warrant was issued and DPS picked up Lamar at Dorchester District Court. Lamar was booked at DPS and was later transported to the MBTA Transit Police Headquarters for lockup.

10:02 a.m. – A female party came to the DPS office to report that she was harassed by a coworker and told DPS that she wanted to file a report about a “‘hostile’ situation.” Officers took a report.
10/1/2016
2:14 a.m. – Officers went to the Bayside Parking Lot after being called by the Massachusetts State Police regarding an altercation about a parking spot on the teacher’s union side of the building. The South Boston barracks of the State Police confirmed that the location was directly behind the barracks. Boston Police Department arrived on scene.
10/2/2016
2:20 p.m. – A male party flagged down DPS at JFK/UMass MBTA station and stated that he had been robbed and that his cellphone was taken. Officers stayed with the male waiting for the MBTA Transit Police to arrive. The suspect was described as wearing all brown and possibly wandering down the middle of the street. The Massachusetts State Police were also notified.
5:18 p.m. – A female party called DPS to request a copy of a police report she filed. DPS dispatch was able to help the female fill it out and submitted it for the female.
10/3/2016
11:42 a.m. – Chevy Automobile Body of Dorchester was called to tow away a car after the car hit one of the DPS cruisers in the Bayside Parking Lot. There were no injuries.
12:27 p.m. – A party came to the DPS office requesting to file a police report to take to Human Resources at her place of work after having ongoing disturbances with another employee.
10/4/2016
3:06 a.m. – DPS conducted a well-being check after coming across a vehicle with its light on in the Campus Center garage. Officers spoke with the male party who was found to be an active student. The student told officers that he would be leaving.
6:42 a.m. – Officers responded to the Campus Center garage after an alarm when off in one of the toll booths. Officers checked the booth and all appeared to be in order.
10/5/2016
12:28 a.m. – Officers checked the docks at Fox Point after finding that the gate was was being held open by a piece of rope. Officers checked the boats, dock, and the surrounding area and found nothing. Officers secured the gate.
6:34 a.m. – Officers responded to the Campus Center garage after an alarm went off in one of the toll booths. Officers found that the alarm went off because personnel from Parking and Transportation had entered the booth and accidentally set it off.
6:46 a.m. – Officers responded to the Campus Center garage after an alarm went off in one of the toll booths. Officers found nothing on arrival.
12:19 p.m. – Several professors came to the DPS office to report that they hadbeen repeatedly harassed by students.
10/6/2016
10:50 a.m. – A male party came to the DPS officer to report that he had received a threatening phone call at his home on October 1. Officers told the party occurred out of their jurisdiction and told him to contact his local department. Officers told the party to come back with a copy of the police report.
4:50 p.m. – A male party came to the DPS office to report that he had his wallet stolen the day before from the men’s locker room in the Clark Athletic Center. The party told officers that the wallet contained $1,000 in cash. Officers called Sovereign bank to see if the bank could get any photos of the suspect using the male’s debit card. The bank supervisor reported that they were able to get three photos of a suspect that was there during the reported time. Officers then went to talk with the male party.
5:27 p.m. – One of Sodexo’s supervisors called DPS to report that one of the employees had their wallet stolen from their purse in the Healey Library cafe. The female employee told officers that she had put her wallet in a locked room that only employees were able to get into.

8:50 a.m. – A female party came to the DPS office to report that she had received annoying calls from a supposed clown who was threatening her.
11:50 a.m. – A party came to the DPS office to report that there was a disturbance with a student.
2:03 p.m. – A female party came to the DPS office to report that she had been chased twice by the same male party as she went from her house to Savin Hill MBTA station. Officers reported the female to Boston Police district C-11.
10/10/2016
5:43 a.m. – A male party called to requested assistance as he attempted to leave Lot D Parking Lot but his wife’s car was blocking him. The male party stated that he had four unattended minors at his house. DPS called Boston Police Dept and MBTA Transit Police who arrived on scene. The female party was released to go home to attend to the minors. Boston Police took over the scene from there.

9:41 a.m. – Officers were called to the Beacon Parking Lot Access Road after they were called about a party leaving their dog in their car. Officers spoke with the party’s brother advising him to tell their brother to not leave the dog in the car.
1:19 p.m. – A UMass Boston employee called DPS to report that a student had written a bomb threat in the Men’s Room near the Catwalk in the Campus Center. The note in the stall said “10/7/2016”. Officers took a report.
1:38 p.m. – A party came to the DPS office to report that a larceny had occurred at the JFK/UMass MBTA stop. Officers were advised to disregard the call as the MBTA Transit Police would handle it.
