To the editor,
The front page of this morning’s edition of the UMass Boston Mass Media depicting University President Jack Wilson as Adolph Hitler displays a profound insensitivity to the victims of the Holocaust, their families and President Wilson himself.
Adolph Hitler was history’s most sinister example of man’s inhumanity to man, cruelty and inhumanity towards not only Jews but also homosexuals, the infirm, mentally ill and others. His image should never be used in a lighthearted or frivolous manner which trivialized the unbridled hatred and violence he fostered and unleashed on the world. The insensitivity is only magnified by fact that President Wilson is of Jewish ancestry only exacerbates the grave error in judgment made by the newspaper and their faculty advisor.
An apology on behalf of the victims of the Holocaust, President Wilson and the community is certainly in order
