On a dreary Saturday in the greater Boston area, UMass Boston athletic teams could not produce a victory that would have at least brighten some hearts.
Every Beacon team was on the road, so there was no possible aid in being surrounded in friendly confines. The men’s baseball team traveled to play Eastern Connecticut State for a doubleheader. Unfortunately, the Beacons were swept by the talented Warriors squad by the scores of 14-3 and 5-3. Senior pitcher John Forbes suffered his first loss of the season to drop to 2-1. The losses dropped the team’s record to 9-5 overall and 0-2 in the Little East Conference.
The lacrosse team faced a 3-2 Babson team. Although the Beacons dropped the game, it was a tightly contested match. Junior attacker Josh Stolp scored six goals to lead the Beacons.
