Dissertation Fellowships
The Social Science Research Council will be awarding up to seven fellowships of $18,000 each to graduate students in the social science and humanities. Fellowships will provide maintenance support of dissertations research on the history, behavior, and role of nonprofit and/or philanthropic organizations in the United States. The application deadline is December 1, 2003. Spayne & Bollinger Fall Deadline Established
The fall 2003 deadline for the Spayne & Bollinger applications is Tuesday, December 2, 2003 at 5PM. Applications are available on the GSA website, www.gsa.umb.edu.
The Robert W. Spayne Research Grant for Masters students and the Craig R. Bollinger Memorial Research Grant for Doctoral students provide recipients with funding used to complete their thesis or dissertation. This is a competitive process as we receive more applications than available awards.
Education Support Grant

Flu Clinic at University Health Services
With the flu season upon us, University Health Services is offering a flu clinic on Nov. 3 – 13, 9am – 4pm, Quinn Administration, 2nd Floor, Room 40. The cost of a flu shot for students is $10, and $20 for faculty and staff. For more information, call 617-287-5660 or email [email protected].
NEASC
New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Inc (NEASC), is the nation’s oldest regional accrediting association and serves about 1,866 public and independent schools, colleges, and universities in New England. As a university accredited by NEASC, UMass Boston will be reviewed by NEASC to ensure that the University has maintained the high standards in education.
Prior to the review, the University the Reaccredidation Steering Committee will be conducting a self-study to make sure the university standards are up to par in areas of the educational experience including: mission and purpose, planning and evaluation, organization and governance, programs and instruction, faculty, student services, library and information services, physical resources, financial resources, public disclosure, and integrity.
