Fellow students, I believe we are all yearning for an Environmental President to step up to the plate. And the only Candidate for President to do so is Sen. Joe Lieberman. My opinion Lieberman is the leader we are looking for to lay down an iron fist to corporate polluters. Corporate greed can be an infectious disease to the environment. That is why I know Lieberman’s Ideas will put forth regulations to stop this horrific problem called Global Warming. Joe Lieberman has a great idea how to reduce harmful emissions; the plan is called “cap and trade.” He will work with lawmakers that will provide an overall limit of greenhouse gases, and then the businesses have total control to cut their emissions. If the greenhouse gases go over their limit, than that company has to buy and sell credits from other companies instead of paying penalties. This helps the economy and keeps businesses aware of the limit of greenhouse gases their letting out, so that they don’t go over If they do go over the limit of gases they can release they would have to buy and sell which can hurt their business and help others businesses who are abiding by the rules. Lieberman say’s, “This is an approach endorsed by environmentalists for a good reason. It responds to the growing consensus that America needs to take serious steps today to deal with global warming.” In conclusion, Lieberman is one of our greatest leaders and he knows the environment needs serious help to preserve it for the future and safe guard it for our children.
