In the first five games of her college athletic career, freshman Andrea Ciarletta has become one of the more feared scorers of the Eastern College Athletic Association. The Watertown native has scored an amazing 11 goals to go along with 6 assists for a total of 17 points. She is second in her conference in goal scoring and total points, but she is first in points per game average with 3.4.
Ciarletta was named the ECAC Rookie of the Week for the week of November 17. The award came on the heels of three consecutive hat tricks (three goals in a game), her last coming in a 5-1 win over MIT.
The forward has had plenty of help. Her linemates, Melissa Belmonte and Calli Beskosty, are also among the conference leaders in several offensive categories. Together, the BBC line has scored 20 of the team’s 33 goals as the team jumped out to a 5-0 start.
