Education Support Grant
At the end of each semester the GSA awards grants in the form of bookstore gift certificates or copy cards to students with the highest GPA. For more information or an application, log on to the GSA website at www.gsa.umb.edu.
Professional Development Grant
The GSA allocates funds to reimburse matriculated graduate students who attend or present their research at conferences, conventions, and professional meetings related to their field. Applications must be submitted at least one month prior to travel. For more information refer to the GSA website at http://www.gsa.umb.edu/programs.htm.
The GSA Supports The Watermark
GSA members voted to donate $2,000 in response to a funding request by the editors of The Watermark, UMass Boston’s student arts and literary publication. The GSA is proud to support The Watermark in their efforts to showcase the talented works of our students.
Pre-release Screening of Cold Mountain
Courtesy of Miramax Films, Graduate Studies has obtained special pre-release screening for UMass Boston of “Cold Mountain.” Coinciding with the New York premiere, the movie will be shown on December 9, 7-10pm at Loews Boston Common Theatre, 175 Tremont Street, Boston. Although seating is limited, tickets for graduate students and faculty will be available a first come, first served basis at the Office of Graduate Studies on the second floor of the Quinn Administration building, Room 080.
