It’s that time of year again– the season of pumpkin spice lattes, yoga pants, and just about every basic girl stereotype that comes to mind.
We all know exactly what I’m talking about; Girls decked out in leggings and moccasins, armed with Starbucks and infinity scarves– a style that literally has no end. From time to time, every girl starts to suffer from Basic Girl Syndrome (BGS). But don’t let that alarm you! We are here to help. Here are the top three sure signs of this serious affliction:
1. The Infamous Pumpkin Spice Latte
This beverage is the staple energy source for all girls suffering from BGS. Starbucks lines everywhere will be overflowing with girls desperate to get their limited edition pumpkin fix. Sometimes, girls suffering from BGS may stray and, for once, give other flavors a chance.
But don’t be fooled by the girl sipping a Salted Caramel Mocha coffee; you will definitely see her in Harvard Square sporting her overpriced Pumpkin Spice by tomorrow.
If she’s got a really bad case of BGS, she might even have the Pumpkin Spice Frappachino, despite the incredibly cold temperatures. A girl suffering from BGS will take any measures necessary to get a hold of this drink, even if it means risking hypothermia.
2. Bath and Body Works Pumpkin-scented Goods
God knows the Pumpkin Spice Latte is not enough for these poor girls. Fall time means pumpkin time, all the time.
Being around a girl with BGS, you can be sure that your senses will be assaulted by the sickly sweet aroma of Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin body wash, body lotion, and body spray in that order. Maybe even if you’re lucky, she’ll lend you some of her Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin hand sanitizer– it’s not as if the room doesn’t already reek of it.
3. The Newest White iPhone
You know those girls who are standing outside the Apple store for hours on end? Yeah.
You can be sure they’ll have the latest iPhone in white before you even knew there was a new iPhone.
If you or one of your closest friends is experiencing these symptoms, seek help immediately. The options for treatment are pretty limited. The best you can do for your friend–or yourself– is cut off their pumpkin latte supply. Maybe even gift her body wash that doesn’t make her smell like a craft store.
