DEMOCRATIC GUBERNATORIAL CANDIDATE TOM REILLY VISITED UMASS last Tuesday, speaking and answering student’s questions during Paul Watananbe’s Presidential Election PolSci 330 class. A representative with Reily’s campaign contacted Watananbe a day prior to his intended visit, requesting the opportunity to speak with UMass students on issues of public education and the need for continued support UMass. The current attorney general arrived at the university shortly before 11:00 and stayed well after the class had ended as students engaged with the prospective candidate for Governor.***OFF-SITE PARKING ON MT. VERNON ST. CLOSED as of last Tuesday. An email sent out by Vice Chancellor Ellen O’Connor informed the university that the Mt. Vernon St. parking spaces at the McCormack School and St. Christopher’s Church would no longer be available. This leaves the Bayside Expo Center parking as the only available option once all on-site lots have been filled. The Bayside auxiliary lots are well-equipped with available spaces. but it is not clear whether their policy of offering a reduced parking fee, which variably dropped below the standard $6 in an apparent effort to compete with the Mt.
