Africa Night, the African Student Union’s annual cultural showcase of Africa, took place on April 14. The main cultural show was followed by an after party and took place in ballrooms A, B and C on the third floor of the Campus Center. Africa Night is a cultural celebration of Africa through music, dance, fashion, poetry, theater, and cuisine. Started almost ten years ago by African Students as a gift to the university community, Africa Night has become a preeminent cultural event at UMass Boston, attracting students as well as community residents. During Africa Night, awards were handed out to faculty members and administrators that have helped to nurture the renaissance enjoyed by the ASU over the past couple of years.
