Donald Trump sent Rosie O’Donnell’s S&M outfit to Barbara Walters. In the latest round in the ongoing battle between the indescribably-haired real estate magnate and the comedian turned talk show host, Trump reportedly obtained the sadomasochistic costume that O’Donnell wore in the 1994 movie “Exit to Eden” and sent it to Barbara Walters to hang in her office. Then he reportedly told Page Six, “I sent it to Barbara to hang in her office because I didn’t want it in mine. It was funny, except that it was really gross. It’s disgusting. I feel sorry for [Rosie’s] wife. It can’t be pleasant.” Walters refused to comment on air about the incident, saying she didn’t want to “stir up the whole Donald Trump thing again.”
Sanjaya Malakar won’t be winning the top spot on American Idol. The much-vilified “singer” was voted off the vocal island last week. He takes with him the “Vote For The Worst” dream of radio-host, Howard Stern, who had hoped to undermine the pop juggernaut by encouraging his fans to vote for someone who had little or no talent, and thus no real chance of winning. Sanjaya was as famous for has wacky hair-dos as for his warble, but alas, it looks like the bubble has finally burst.
In Loco Parentis… way “loco” that is. Alec Baldwin can be heard on a voice mail message calling his eleven-year-old daughter Ireland “a rude, thoughtless little pig.” The “pig” in question apparently missed a planned conversation with her father, sending him into a hissy fit of Biblical proportions.
Spider-Man: The Musical? U2’s Bono and The Edge are planning to pen songs for an forthcoming musical adaptation of Spider-Man. Marvel Studios is putting the pieces together for a musical starring the popular mutant superhero. This marks the first time a Marvel character has been the subject of a Broadway show, although it’s not the first time a superhero has been onstage. Superman was apparently featured in the 1966 musical “It’s a Bird, It’s a Plane, It’s Superman.” The surreal nature of this musical almost makes us wonder if a Tony will land in Marvel’s tangled web. (Nah, not really.)
Matthew Fox will star as Racer X in the forthcoming Speed Racer adaptation. The movie is based on the 1960s cartoon, and will be written and directed by The Matrix’s Wachowski Brothers. Others who have signed on include Emile Hirsch, Susan Sarandon, and John Goodman. Oh, Trixie, here we come.
Richard Gere could get jail time in India for a smooch. Three attorneys filed formal complaints alleging the actor committed an “obscene act” by kissing Bollywood screen goddess Shilpa Shetty at a public conference Monday. The buss on the cheek touched off protests organized by religious conservatives in which Gere and Shetty burned in effigy throughout the country.
